'unnamed'

in almost any book, every character has a name especially if they were the main character. but there is one book that i know do not have names for some of the character, yet we know they have played a big role in that story. heard of stories like..

1. the boy with 5 loaves of bread and 3 fishes
2. the semaritan woman by the well
3. the servant girl that helped her master

some of the many stories in the bible that the main character do not have a name in the bible and yet, they are known and many lessons are learnt from these people. blurpoint 1#: why are their names not mentioned..? especially when they are pretty important in the bible? yet there are names of people that are unheard of.. especially in genealogy.

so.. are names important? hahahaha.. well, of cuz it is used to identify one person from another.. or we would be shouting to each other.. 'oi!' hehe. but even so, the name 'Jesus' was a said to be a common name at the time when Jesus was born. so.. here's a funny question.. if Jesus were to come back and we are all raptured and all.. and IF there is a new world.. and (hypothetical scenario) IF there will be a new bible.. would our names be there? or.. would we be known as.. 'the girl that..' or 'the man that..' hmm..

well, of cuz our names are written in the book of life.. which is more important that anything else.. but just think about the 'what ifs'.. (even if it hypothetical). how many of our names would be mentioned in the the (pretend) new bible? will there be, 'ah chong said to ah mei..' hmm... what do you think? hehe..

just some of my funny random musing on a friday.. again. ;o)

I guess if we live our lives now with purposes, we tend to leave legacies as we become part of the history. People will eventually know what we have done, but not remembering our names, and that is cool, because it is our works that reflect the personhood in us, not our names. Hahaha....but if you have at least 20 persons remembering your name for 20 years, that is something you really have left behind as part of the legacy.....well, well...Goo Goo Dolls sings, "...and I won't tell no one your name...I won't tell your name." Haha

WOW sis - that is deep for a "random friday thought"! I love the fact that our name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life - so great isn't it? that HIS mercy is new every morning. I think if it were for me, I would love the story to be written and my name left off so that God would receive all the glory and praise for the miracles He works through me. Thanks for blogging this, it made me think!
