xin nian lai lor..

or is it spell wrongly? oh well.. i dont know mandarin, so this is as close as it gets! haha.. anywayz, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

before chinese new year..
chinese new year is only 2 days away and like every festive celebration, the decorations are up with red lanterns, ang-pows, oranges. and yes, its just that feeling again. somehow, chinese new year seems to be a grand celebration. you can always tell the hype-ness of this celebration when..
1. people selling oranges by the sidewalk
2. people selling waxed bbq pork (blurpoint 1#: what's the significance of it?)
3. red lanterns hanging up in streets, malls
4. everyone getting a new haircut
5. malls are selling red clothes
6. bus tickets sold out 2 weeks before cny
7. chinese new year biscuits selling everywhere
8. weather starts to be freaking hot
9. feng-shui talk show showing in tv

and the most obvious of all..
10. chinese new year songs blasting everywhere is malls, radio and neighbourhood!

ahh.. the fun of chinese new year i would say. well, occasionally you'll see decoration of the particular chinese zodiac around. for this year, its year of the dog.. seems like there are new puppies around my neighbourhood too. (blurpoint 2#: so, if its year of the dragon, every house will be keeping a dragon as a pet..!?) oh.. the best part if you're staying in a major big city is, there's no jam! cuz most people would have jammed up the smaller towns.

during chinese new year..
there's also the FAQ during chinese new year..
1. 'got boyfriend already ar?'
-- as long as you're still single, this question will stick with you for a long long time
-- (blurpoint 3#: why dont people ask whether we've gotten any angpow already or not, instead..!?)
2. 'when are you getting one?'
-- you think getting one like getting a new blouse ar?
3. and occasionally.. 'when are you getting married?'
-- refer to question1 first.. aiyoh..

well, other than that, there tonnes of FAQ but couldnt really be bothered. i'm more concern about the food and the annual angpow collection. food is the best cuz thats the only time we get to eat as much as we want and worry about cholesterols later. hahaha

after chinese new year..
for almost everything that happens, there's the aftermath. some good, some not so good.. depending on how you see it to be.
1. kids happily counting their ang pow collections
2. parents counts how much ang pows that was given out
3. everyone worried about their physical size after consuming too much food(blurpoint 4#: guess this is when the gym and slimming center can get more customers)

but whatever it is, chinese new year is the best year for a family gathering. so, here's me wishing all.. 'Keong Hee Huat Chye' or... Happy Chinese New Year. ;o)

time passes by

when we were small
we asked for attention
we asked for a hand to hold us
we asked but we couldnt voice out

when we were growing up
we asked for toys
we asked for games
we asked for time together

when we were teens
we seek for fun
we seek for enjoyments
we seek for affections

when we were working
we seek for position
we seek for increments
we seek for a life partner

when we were married
we seek for security
we seek for stability
we seek for a family

when we have children
we ask for good grades
we ask for their going out
we ask for their perfection

when we are grey headed
we asked for time with family
we asked for love and affections
we asked but we never voice it out

***
something that i just realised when i attended a retreat a few weeks ago. that we are actually moving in a circle. i was just looking at some of the kids and how they react. they just want to have fun together but sometimes when we get older, we tend to rationalise too much. we question too much and sometimes just loosing out the reason to have fun.

so... have fun in whatever you do..! ;o)

a quick 'hello'

not too sure what to post on the first month of the new year except.. 'Happy New Year'. yea, its a 4 days late.. but its still in the first week, eh.. aint that late.. yet.

(still not too sure what to post..)

new year was cool.. wasnt at church, though but went to celcom x-pax party and it was actually my first time attending such party. 4 djs performing and after awhile, they do sound alike. probably because i was getting tired. oh! also, meeting with so many people and i mean, really alot of people. we were all just asking, where did all these people come from. and its not like its the only party in kl, cuz there's also party at bintang walk and the curve. a lil bit too happening.
(still thinking what to post..)

havent really come out with my new year's resolution yet, though but did have a think about it during cell group. one of it was to exercise at least once a week (which was from my last year's resolution). so i was geared up to try it this morning.

set my alarm at 6am.
alarm rang.
realised it was raining
..
went back to sleep.

hahaha.. and was a lil bit late for work today. so much for trying to achieve my goals! oh well.. it happens.

(hmm.. what else..)

guess thats all at the mean time. gotta really do some work now. probably post something later.. oh.. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

(wahh.. quite long also, eh.. *impressed*)
